Darling don't you go and cut your hair

K had his first substantial haircut over the weekend. We sat him in the Bumbo and JW read him "Go, Dog, Go!" while I scrambled around with a pair of scissors trying to snip without him noticing. I trimmed the back and sides. "Trim the front," said JW. I trimmed the front.

"What did you do?" complained JW. We were going to take holiday card pictures with Santa and now he'll have to wear a hat!

I didn't think it was that bad.

He said it was that bad.

When I went to pick up K yesterday, Mrs. Daycare's husband asked if he had gotten a "turkey cut." I am not sure what that meant but I am 80% sure he was making fun of us.

Is it that bad? I know it's too short and a little uneven, but...

OK. He can wear a hat.

  1. It looks like there's a bit of a bald spot in the front, but he's still adorable. I say there's no need for a hat.

  2. No way, it's totally adorable. I'm all for the at-home haircut. You did a fabulous job, and I think it's less traumatic for everyone if you do it yourself!

  3. I think you could put red lipstick on that kid and he'd still be the cutest baby on the internet.

  4. He looks perfectly normal. I have no idea what a turkey cut is.

  7. He looks fine! If anyone brings it up, say he did it himself. Oh, the manual dexterity on that kid!

  9. OMG. How *could* you do this to your own child? I'm mortified! Too short and a little uneven, indeed! ;)

OK, maybe I'm bringing up memories of my own at-home haircuts when I was a child...

    He is totally adorable.
